REQUIEM FOR A DREAM

Some few days back one of my friends gave me an album named “Soundtracks- Requiem for a dream”. He considers them as suicidal soundtracks. So I thought why not give it a try.

When I listen to them I started getting a feel, “yes these soundtracks have some effect”.

But what happened one day I’ll explain to you.

One afternoon I went for a nap. Generally I used to take a nap of 1hour, and also I used to sleep with some music running on my PC. On that afternoon I played “Requiem for a dream” (beginning of the end for me………ha ha). Basically there are 32 tracks nearly about an hour. As the tracks go on the whole environment becomes very tense, plaintive and the last 6-7 tracks are of maximum intensity. I went into the dead sleep after first 6-7 tracks but with some sadness, discomfort in my mind due to those 6-7 tracks. Now I was very fortunate (fortunate…….u must say my luck went crazy that day), suddenly I got up after 50 minutes and what I heard was undefined. At that time those last 6 tracks were playing up on the system. Those 6 tracks you can say are best of worst.

The situation was like……..I went to sleep with a seed of discomfort growing in my mind and when I got up I found myself in the jungle of tension, horror, pain, sadness………very few words to describe.

Seriously the music was suicidal but the way the whole situation was created…………was terrible. It was like as if someone is saying, “How dare you to listen to these sound tracks……now experience the hell out of them.

Once the tracks started I entered into a world of pain, I was wandering in this world (in my sleep for 40 min) searching for life, and then someone took me out of this dreamy world into the real world (I awoke)……but the real world was more horrible.
